MP3 to text, in your browser
Drop an MP3 into the Audio Transcriber side panel and get the words with a timestamp on every line. Hours-long files are fine: the text appears part by part while the file is read.
- How it works
- 1Open the side panel with the Audio Transcriber icon.
- 2Choose File and drop your MP3, or pick it.
- 3Read, search and play the text from any line; download it when you need it.
The file stays with you
The MP3 is read on your computer. Only compressed speech audio is sent to make the transcript.
Every line has its time
Click a line and the recording plays from that moment.
Five ways to take it with you
Plain text with or without times, SubRip, WebVTT, Word and Markdown.
Questions
Which other formats work?+
MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG, Opus, FLAC, AAC and WebM, and the sound of MP4, MOV and MKV videos.
How long can a file be?+
There is no fixed length. A long file is read and sent in parts of up to 30 seconds, and the text grows as they come back.
Can I close the panel while it works?+
Yes. The work runs in the background of the extension and goes on with the panel closed.
